Internships

Each fall semester, Newfield selects top students from multiple universities to participate in a three-month internship program where they receive practical experience in the oil and gas business. Interns are assigned a project geared to their background and education, and a mentor who helps to provide guidance and support. Our comprehensive program is focused to assure a solid transition from student to a petroleum industry professional.

Investing in Our People

Our college intern program is highly recognized by some of the top schools and graduating engineers and geoscientists. Each year, we hire a number of both graduating summer interns and college students from a list of premier universities. A long-standing tradition, we also contribute monetarily to the universities where we successfully recruit interns and college students. In 2015, we hired 15 summer interns and three graduating students into full-time positions, and contributed $60,000 to their universities. A portion of the contributed funds are provided to specific university departments to use toward needed resources. The remaining donations are used for student scholarships.
